WAKAI is on the cusp of reaching audiences worldwide. The Baton Rouge rapper has already received acclaim from notable outlets including Pitchfork and The Fader but all one needs is to listen to his music to instantly get it. WAKAI released his 2nd full-length record, Some People Scream, Some People Talk, to massive critical acclaim in July 2023. With two full-length albums released, WAKAI has featured guest verses from Mick Jenkins, Frank Sativa, femdot., Flozigg  Emmavie, Malik Elijah, and several more rising stars. He has mastered a sound & flow reminiscent of legends Outkast and A Tribe Called Quest, along with contemporaries Smino and Saba. He brings his full band to Toulouse Theater for the first time.

Louisiana native NOA JAMIR knows how it feels to live inside out— to live with her heart wide open. In doing so, she has been able to connect with people across the world, one tender song at a time. Alongside recording her own music, Jamir co-writes with local musicians and has been featured on records from Wakai, Mariah Houston, and Shmoo. Jamir is currently in the process of recording her debut full-length album, Cicada.

_THESMOOTHCAT & THE 9thLIFE is a New Orleans hip-hop band led by rapper Joshua Henderson. The Advocate described the group as follows: “Joshua Henderson's stage handle, _thesmoothcat, is almost too on the nose. On stage, the emcee and his band, The 9th Life, are relaxed and cool — an infectious cool that mellows out the crowd one verse, then amps things back up the next.
